“Believe in yourself even if everyone around you seems not to believe in you.”

The sound of Micheal Jordan gives you an instant imagination of a basketball player with an unimaginable skills. As great and famous the name is, it’s not built without belief. Micheal Jordan was once removed from his college basketball team. Now, he is greater in the same career than those that might be considered better than him in the same team years ago. There was no magic to it that self belief.

Thomas Edison’s teachers said he was “too stupid to learn anything.” He was fired from his first two jobs for being “non-productive.” As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at investing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1000 steps. Source

Four Tips On How To Believe in yourself

I am sure that the question is not on whether believing in yourself is good or not, the question is how do I believe in myself? Now, let us quickly go into these four tips on how to believe in yourself.

Identify Yourself And Embrace Your Personality.

This is the first thing you must do while trying to believe in yourself. Answer the question of “Who am I?” This question reveals your distinctiveness from others on the planet or in your career. A man without the knowledge of himself cannot believe in what he can do.

Ernest Holmes, “Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it.” If you failed to think about yourself in great self-esteem, you are simply sending a bad signal to the warrior in you that you are not ready to claim the dreams ahead of you.

Embracing yourself, appreciating who you are is the first key to believing in yourself. I don’t know what your physical look is like, the warrior of everyone lies within.

Don’t Follow The Timeline Of Others.

You are unique and different. Why will you even doubt that? Is your thumb mark the same with another? NO… No matter how little what makes the difference is, it is your duty to find out and trust it as the only weapon you have to standout.

It is not late for you to be married at 30 years, neither is it for you to start having children at 35, or have your house or buy a car at 40. You are the only version of yourself. Avoid running in the pace of others. Trying to follow the timeline ‘laid down’ in your society is derailing from your real self. The one person you need to be you is yourself.

Let them fly if they want to fly. Let them run if they want to run. Moving at your pace is the most important. A Russian proverb says “Ride slower- going further is sure.”

Don’t measure your life comparing yourself with others, the best way to evaluate yourself is knowing if your today is better than your yesterday. This will help you to know you are moving and if you can do more, your tomorrow will be better than today.

Be Self-motivated

One of the challenges you can have is expecting people to motivate you. You don’t need motivation from anyone except from yourself. The sad story is they may not see you now. They may not even believe in your dream. So, waiting for them to motivate you is welcoming them to kill your dream. It is your duty to believe in yourself.

You are the owner of your vision and idea. It is your responsibility to bring it to life. If you were to advice Thomas Edison when he was failing in making the light bulb, would you have suggested to him to keep going? You sometimes don’t need their approval. One thing is certain, they will rejoice with you when you are able to deliver the pregnancy of your ideas safely.

There is no motivation that is as great as a self-motivation. No matter how much you node and approve my 4 tips here, it is still left to be active in you if you are self-motivated. To know how you can be self motivated, watch this video, what is your why?
