Olusola Adeola, popularly known as IMO, reveals how her journey started in Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, during an interview with The Momentum Tv.

Brief History of Adeola Olusola.

Adeola Olusola hails from Osun state, Odo-Otin local government. She was born into the family of Mr. & Mrs. Olusola in the year 2000. Adeola IMO is a talented singer, and she is presently studying Music in the Polytechnic Ibadan.

Adeola’s fame started rising after her feature in the film titled IMO, where she played the lead role with absolute distinctions. Though, before she was featured in IMO, she had participated in two previous movies known as; Keregbe Tofo and Gbaremu. Shortly after the release of IMO, her featured films are increasing day by day.

  • Best actress in the year 2020 by Slate 1 Films Academy.
  • Revelation of the year 2020 award, during the Dallas International Yoruba Movies Awards, 2021.

How did it all started?

Imo started her acting dream as a drama group member in church, like many other stars in the entertainment industries. In response to how her journey started as an actress, she recalled how her sister, Olusola Odunayo, saw an audition on Instagram, and told her if they could try their luck. They journeyed down to Ibadan from Lagos. The outcome of the audition favoured Adeola, and it gave her a free ticket to appear in 45 scenes, in a film titled Keregbe Tofo.

What are the prices you have paid and still paying in the industry?

In discussing the prices paid for her success so far in the industry, Adeola mentioned; prayers, humility and punctuality. She further encourages her fans to be prayerful and be humble in all their dealings as it pave ways for dreams in coming to reality.



How did your family take the idea of starting a career in film industry?

“All my family members are in support of what I’m doing and they are proud of me.” She said this with no iota of doubt in her mind when she responded to our question on how her family took her decision of starting a career in Nigerian film industry.

Who are your role models?

“I have two role models in the industry, Funke Akindele and Bimbo Ademoye.” As for the big fishes in the industry that she is looking forward to working with, she mentioned 4 names among others, without blinking her eyes. Funke Akindele, Bimbo Ademoye, Toyin Abraham, and Taraji P. Henson.

Any interest to feature in international movie industries such as Hollywood?

One of the questions that trilled Olusola Adeola most was if she is looking forward to working with international movie industry. With all joy and great expectations “I am willing, and I pray God will take me there.” she said.



Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

In response to our question of where she sees herself in the next 5 years, IMO left us in suspense by simply saying, “I see myself in my comfort zones, achieving my goals one after the other.” This is a suspense about her which we shall be unavailing as soon as the events are unfolding.
